Philadelphia Eagles wins their second Lombardi Trophy in their franchise over the Kansas City Chiefs in a blowout in New Orleans. Here is the game review on this dominating Super Bowl performance by the Eagles ending the Chiefs dreams of becoming the first NFL team to threepeat.

Philadelphia’s defensive line and secondary made Patrick Mahomes look human

It was already known that the Philadelphia Eagles had the best defense in the league heading into this game. But they were going up against an quarterback who dismantles the league’s best defenses in Super Bowls, Patrick Mahomes. So the task for Philadelphia on defense was pretty simple get pressure on Patrick Mahomes and throw him off his game and that’s what the Eagles exactly did on defense. Philadelphia’s defense had a record of six sacks and three turnovers, including a 38 yard interception return touchdown by rookie corner Cooper DeJean. This was an great all-time performance by this Eagles defensive unit and probably best the defensive performance by a team we’ve seen in a Super Bowl since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.

Jalen Hurts balls out and named Super Bowl MVP

With all the talk about the Eagles superstar running back Saquon Barkley on how the Kansas City were going to shut him down. Folks in the national media didn’t talk much about Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Now obviously people thought that Hurts was going to get exposed if Barkley wasn’t going to have a great game (which he didn’t) and make Hurts throw the ball. Well that happened, but the not way that the Chiefs defense thought. Hurts had another stellar performance in the Super Bowl once again with having a total 293 yards with 221 passing yards and 72 rushing yards, a total of three touchdowns with two passing touchdowns and one rushing and he threw a interception in the game. Hurts proved that even without his star running back not having great game, he finds another way to lead his team to victory with throwing to his best two wideouts in AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith. And he rightfully earned the Super Bowl MVP with a performance like this in the biggest game of the year.

Is Patrick Mahomes still in GOAT conversation with another blowout loss in the Super Bowl?

It’s no question that Patrick Mahomes is the face of the NFL and best quarterback in the league. But is he still in the conversations of the GOAT talk after another horrendous Super Bowl performance loss against the Eagles? Well the answer for right now is no, but he still has time to add more Super Bowl championships to his Hall of Fame resume in his career. Now some people think that even if he does win more Super Bowls in his career, he still can’t be recognized as the GOAT because of him never beating the great Tom Brady when it matter the most. In Mahomes first AFC Conference Championship, he lost an overtime thriller at home to Tom Brady and the Patriots 37-31 and two years later when Brady went to the Buccaneers, Mahomes got embarrassed and harass by Tampa Bay’s defensive unit and got blown out of the water by Brady’s Bucs of a whopping scored 31-9 in the Super Bowl. So those two losses to Brady does leave a stain to Mahomes legacy that he couldn’t beat the man that he’s trying to dethrone as the quarterback GOAT. But it doesn’t mean that Mahomes is out of the GOAT conversation just yet, he still a lot of football to play in the next decade and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
