The Miami Heat stun the Denver Nuggets overcoming a 15 point deficit and a 32-11 Denver scoring avalanche in the 2nd quarter to comeback and win game 2 111-108.
It was game of the “others” for both sides as Miami’s role players were huge picking up for yet another pedestrian night from Jimmy Butler while Denver’s role player were nowhere to be found.
Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, and Duncan Robinson had great scoring nights for the heat, all scoring in double digits and combining for 10 made 3 pointers. Kyler Lowry and Kevin Love showed their veteran savvy and championship pedigree playing stellar defense and hitting timely shots including 2 3 pointers from each.
For the Nuggets meanwhile it was an offensive no show as only Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon scored in the double digits, with Nikola Jokic being the only one over 20 points with 41 points. Miami did a good job of stifling passing lanes and staying home on shooters with Jokic having more turnovers than assist and the nuggets as a team only shooting 39% from 3 point range.
Miami has stolen homecourt advantage and will look to put additional pressure on Denver Wednesday as Game 3 of this series takes them to Miami.
