Drummond, the former Detroit Pistons center, apparently saved his son from drowning, according to surveillance video posted Thursday on social media.
“NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES(…) A parents worst nightmare….. Feat my son & I No one was harmed in this video.”
The 32-second recording shows what appears to be two adults and a small child hanging out by an in-ground pool. As the woman looks toward the child, reportedly Drummond’s 2-year-old son Deon, he falls or leaps forward into the water.
She screams and tries to get to her feet. But not before a large NBA-sized man sprints into view and jumps in beside the boy. Drummond, still fully clothed, holds his son above his head before handing him off to another adult.
Per Drummond’s caption to his Twitter post, no one was injured. One adult could be heard in the video saying “he’s smiling,” referencing Deon, as Drummond pulled himself from the pool.
