A’ja Wilson, reigning champion, two time league MVP, and current MVP frontrunner once again etched her name in the record books during the Aces’ win over Caitlin Clark and the Fever on Wednesday night.
Right before the end of the first half, Wilson recorded her 941st point this season breaking the WNBA single-season scoring record. Jewell Loyd, who scored 939 points in 2023 now moves to second behind Wilson.
The mid-range jumper from the free throw line was working for her early and she once again relied on it with 26.4 seconds left in the second quarter, finishing the half with 12 points and eight rebounds.
Wilson Finished the game with 27 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, a steal, and three blocks. Nothing short of an outstanding comeback after missing Sunday’s bout in Brooklyn against the Liberty with an ankle injury.
The Aces are back in the win column and back with their MVP-favorite team leader. They look to hold onto the four seed with the Seattle Storm only one game behind. With four games left to play, and another against Indiana on Friday night, Las Vegas is in for a tense and action-packed conclusion to their regular season.
