The 2024 WNBA rookie class was one of the most decorated and anticipated in the league’s history – for good reason as numerous rookies continue to show us exactly why they should have the spotlight.

Angel Reese has been shining in Chicago her rookie season, proving time and time again that she can fearlessly go up against WNBA legends like A’ja Wilson and Tina Charles on the regular.

Despite just getting started in the league, she’s made it known that she is a true competitor not just off the court with her sense of fashion, but on the court as well with her attitude, grit and success – definitely a contender for Rookie of the Year.

On Friday, July 5th in an 88-84 win over the Seattle Storm, Reese secured her 12th consecutive double-double – and tied the current double-double streak record held by Candace Parker (which is over multiple seasons, fyi!).

Reese already holds the record for the most consecutive double-doubles recorded in a single season.

Adding onto the weekend’s excitement was Caitlin Clark setting her own rookie record – the first WNBA rookie to record a triple-double.

Not only did July 6th’s Saturday game against the New York Liberty result in record-breaking stats for Clark, but it also marked a huge 83-78 win for the Indiana Fever over the Liberty.

After being outscored in the second and third quarters by the Liberty, Indiana fought back in the fourth to secure the win, Clark recording an impressive collection of stats with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists.

The Indiana Fever will play next on Wednesday, July 10th against the Washington Mystics at home.

Chicago will take on Seattle in Washington today, Sunday, July 7th at 6pm EST.
