After watching their arch rival Kansas City Chiefs get demolished by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. Where do the Buffalo Bills goes next? Let’s discuss on what the Bills need to do in order to get over the hump and reach the Super Bowl for the first time in 31 years.

Making a splash move to get Myles Garrett or Maxx Crosby in free agency

Watching what the Eagles defensive line unit did to Mahomes in the Super Bowl making him look like a regular quarterback with the amount of talent and star power, Bills desperately need to add star player on their defensive line like a Myles Garett or Maxx Crosby. Garrett is a six time All-Pro player, six time Pro Bowler and an NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He is a sack machine having 10+ sacks over the last seven years in his career. He will bring a lot of energy to awaken this Buffalo defensive line and making it very scary to the other 31 NFL teams. If Buffalo can’t get Garrett, then plan B would be going after Maxx Crosby next. Crosby is probably one of the most underrated defensive players in the league. His name doesn’t get mention a lot to folks in the national media like Garrett, Parsons, Bosa, Watt and Hutchison names do in the media. He does have 10+ sacks in his career, but only doing it three times. Crosby would be a nice addition to the Bills defense and helping guys like Javon Solomon and DeWayne Carter who are going into their second year in the league. So it doesn’t matter on what player the Bills get between Garrett or Crosby in free agency, but it’s all about whether they would go all in to reaching that goal in winning the Super Bowl if they pull a blockbuster trade like this.

Which player do the Bills bring back in free agency?

The Bills have some major contracts to sign in free agency. With signing the NFL MVP Josh Allen to another contract extension and signing guys like James Cook, Khalil Shakir and Terrell Bernard to contract extensions. It leaves Buffalo making some major cuts and resigns. But what player would they bring back on the team heading into the 2025 NFL Season. Well for starters, the unsung hero and fan favorite player wideout Mack Hollins might be coming back to the team after having a solid season in his first year with the Bills. He’s tremendous with his hands and run blocking skills within the running game. Ty Johnson is also another candidate who could be coming back to the team as well, being a reliable third string running back on the roster. As for cuts, I think the team might be moving on with like guys Rasul Douglas and Damar Hamlin. Douglas was inconsistent and didn’t have a great year in his second season with the team and also getting older. Hamlin is a nice guy in all and has a great story of returning to the game after the horrific scared back in 2023, but he’s just a depth guy and not actual starting safety in this league. There’s a lot of decides for the Bills to make heading into the free agency going into next season.

What draft needs do the Bills need to make in the NFL Draft?

Heading into the NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills have major needs to address within the first three rounds of the draft. Buffalo needs are defensive tackle, safety, cornerback and wideout. The approach of the Bills philosophy on draft day has always been picking the best player available. With the 30th overall pick the Bills should draft defense to add some holes on the defensive side of the ball. Then maybe in the later rounds, Buffalo should go get another playmaker on offense for Josh Allen having an reliable deep threat wideout down the field in big moments of the game. So this is what the Bills should be focusing on going into the draft, adding pieces to the defense and filling up the holes and grabbing another weapon for Allen and the Bills offense in the later rounds of the draft.
