After clinching the AFC East for a fifth consecutive year in a row, the Bills head west to the city of Angels to take on the up and down Los Angeles Rams. Here are the three keys victory for a Bills win over the Rams.

Containing Kyren Williams

Last week against the 49ers in the snow, the Bills run defense allowed allowed 153 yards on the ground and that included them not facing Christian McCaffrey in the second half of the game, when he left the game early in the first quarter due to an ankle injury. The Rams aren’t afraid to run the ball, they have rushed 100+ yards in six games this season, including a season high with 156 rushing yards last week against the Saints in New Orleans. LA’s star running back Kyren Williams provides a major threat to this Bills run defense heading into this game on Sunday. So, Buffalo’s run defense must a find way to contain and slow Williams and make the Rams offense one dimensional by airing the ball out. This is a tough challenge for this Bills run defense going up against a rushing attack offense by the Rams led by Kyren Williams.

Overwhelming the young Rams defensive players pass rush by dominating them in the trenches

It’s no question that the Buffalo Bills offensive line has been one of the best offensive line units in the league this season. They only allowed 13 sacks on the season. Making Josh Allen’s life more easier. As for the Rams defensive side of things, everyone thought that their pass rush would take a step back after losing their all-time great defensive pass rusher Aaron Donald to retirement. However, this Rams defensive pass rush has step up in big time with the presents of Aaron Donald not being line up in the defensive line. And it’s led by the young players of Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Byron Young, and Kobie Turner. This defensive pass rush can cause major problems for some of the league’s best offensive units. So, Buffalo’s offensive line has to overwhelm this young Rams defensive players pass rush in the trenches and not let them wreak havoc all day long in SoFi stadium.

Let James Cook

The Buffalo Bills has become more a balanced team since Joe Brady took the play calls for the offense late season. Ever since then, James Cook has been taking off like the superstar running back the Bills hope to get out from him once they drafted back in 2022. The trio of Cook, Davis, and Johnson has been one of the most dangerous running back trios in the league that should scared any defensive coordinator and keep them up at night. Buffalo needs to the run the ball effectively with Cook and even with Ray Davis and Ty Johnson too. Rams run defense is just as bad as the Bills run defense but way worse as they have allowed 144 rushing yards per game and they rank 28th in the league on stopping the run. This could another game where the Bills could have Cook, Davis and Johnson take the load on offense and having Allen throw quick medium passes to Shakir, Cooper, Samuel, Hollins and Knox. And making the Rams defensive line a bit tired out all day long in LA.
