Normani Kordei has been going solo for some time now, but something is still bothering her fans’ mind as she barely releases any new music or does any promotion. This leads these devotees to blame her team for their poor management and even go as far as accuse them of sabotaging her career considering the new allegations that recently surfaced on the Internet.
According to a source, her team often turns down opportunities because they want to push her to do more R&B music to cater to the urban market. For instance, it has been rumored that several big names in the industry, such as The Chainsmokers and Anne-Marie, reached out to her for collaboration. However, her team rejected the offers.
Her manager, Tunji, allegedly admitted to purposely using her successful collaborations to promote her solo song because he doesn’t want to spend money to promote her own solo music. It was also reported that Tunji turned Song Association’s offer many times because he thinks she’s “too big” for that.
Following these accusations, many of her fans have been urging Normani to get out of her contract and find a new team that can manage her better. Neither Normani nor her team have yet to respond to these rumors.
Normani went solo after Fifth Harmony announced that they’d go on an indefinite hiatus. Since then, she has released several collaborations with other musicians, including her successful duet with Sam Smith, “Dancing with a Stranger”, that peaked at No. 7 in the United States. She also became the fastest solo artist without an album to surpass one billion combined streams on Spotify.
Her first solo single, “Motivation”, was released in August 2019. It was nominated for Best Dance Performance at the Soul Train Music Awards.
