Von Miller has been suspended, without pay by the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

The NFL did not explicitly cite what the violation was or what incident led to the violation, but the Associated Press reported that the suspension stems from an accusation of domestic violence against Miller from last November. Miller was accused of assaulting his then pregnant girlfriend and Dallas police issued a warrant for his arrest last year. Miller turned himself in and was then released on a $5,000 bond. Following the incident, both Miller and the woman he is accused of assaulting have said things were “blown way out of context” and deny the accusations.

Von Miller has been allowed to play while the NFL conducted its investigation. Miller was asked about the case during training camp where he said the case had been closed and he was able to “just move forward and focus solely on football”

Miller bounced back for Buffalo on the field this season with three sacks in four games, after not tallying a single one in 14 games last season. Miller will now miss the Bills’ matchups with the Texans, Jets, Titans, and Seahawks; missing the entirety of October and is eligible to return against the Dolphins in Buffalo on November 3rd.

Head Coach Sean McDermott addressed the media regarding the 35-year-old edge rusher’s suspension on Wednesday.

“It’s certainly an unfortunate situation. We respect the decision made by the league and really, it is out of our control.” McDermott said. “It is an opportunity for someone on our football team to step up.”

Sean McDermott made clear that he is not in a position to go into the details behind the suspension.

The Bills are on the road this week, taking on CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans on Sunday at 1PM and look to get back into the win column.
