Women’s sports is continuing to shine in the brightest spotlight it’s ever found itself in. The WNBA just concluded it’s most historic season on record. Stars Breonna Stewart and Napheesa Collier have founded a new 3-on-3 league aimed at taking care of it’s players and continuing to platform women’s athletics. Now, black culture icon Whoopi Goldberg has launched the AWSN or All Women’s Sports Network to continue recognizing women in sports.

Goldberg appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, where she made her announcement.

“It’ll be the home for live women’s sports from around the world.” Goldberg said during her appearance on the show last week. “Everything from soccer, basketball, tennis, cricket, curling- you name it. If a woman is playing it, we’re showing it.”

The network is partnered with CommonSpirit Health, who look after women’s health in particular, according to Goldberg.

“We’re growing really fast. We’ve already launched in Asia, the Middle East, India (on JioTV), and we’ve got a big announcement about our US launch coming…”

The network is now available in the United States via Vizio WatchFree+ as well as globally through other sources.

Goldberg is Co-founder and is partnered with JungoTV. JungoTV CEO George Chung also spoke to the importance of the network.

“The opportunity to bring dedicated coverage of women’s sports to a global audience is long overdue.” The AWSN co-founder said. “Women’s athletics has grown exponentially, and there hasn’t been a single platform committed to showcasing these incredible stories, athletes and events year-round. With this new network, we are proud to give women’s sports the visibility they deserve, creating a space where fans can engage with the athletes and teams they love.”

The network says it will air 2,000 hours of live sports in 2024-2025.
