Former Oregon State Beaver Ethan Thompson departed the school after a historic NCAA Tournament, which brought attention onto him as a possible NBA prospect.F
With him not being one of the 60 young men selected during the 2021 NBA Draft, an opportunity was still given to him by the Bulls in the form of a Summer League contract.
In his debut for the team against the Pelicans, he finished with 11 points on 3-for-8 shooting and 3-for-5 from three. Although his shot wasn’t as perfect as he maybe wanted it to be, he still entered double figures and was on the court for 26 minutes.
Summer League is an opportunity for Thompson to show his value to the Bulls, other NBA teams, and even teams abroad.
With the team currently having Alex Caruso, Lonzo Ball, and Coby White on its roster, Thompson’s chances of making the roster seem slim. Although a solid summer outing could earn him a roster spot or at least a Two-Way deal.
