Propelled by Candace Parker with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists, the Chicago Sky defeated the New York Liberty 90-72 on Tuesday night in the deciding Game 3 to advance to the WNBA semifinals.
As the current defending champions and 2nd seed in the playoffs, the Sky and fans anxiously await the results of tonight’s Game 3 featuring the Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings.
Chicago has won four elimination contests in a row, dating back to last season where they won back-to-back single-elimination games and the franchise’s first WNBA championship.
Some of the Sky’s other top performers were Allie Quigley and Kahleah Copper with 15 points each & Courtney Vandersloot with 14 points and 10 assists.
The 7th seeded Liberty shocked fans and the Sky by taking Game 1, but Chicago retaliated in Game 2 with a WNBA playoff record win by 38 points, then concluding the series yesterday in Game 3.
