They meet yet again for a eighth time in a row on Sunday between the Bills and Chiefs. There’s a lot to talk about this game between these two rivals for playoff seeding to capture the number one seed in the AFC conference. Now the Chiefs haven’t loss a game since Christmas day of last year against the Raiders and have been on a 15 game winning streak including last year’s postseason run since then. As for the Bills they are looking for some payback against their arch nemesis after being eliminated by them for third time in the playoffs in the last four years and have a chance to end their 15 game winning streak at home in Orchard Park this Sunday. Let’s take a quick look at the game preview between these two heavyweights in the AFC.

Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes Quarterback Rivalry

It’s chapter eight between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes has the head to head matchup against Allen being 4-3 and also being undefeated against Allen in the playoffs being 3-0, while Allen has Mahomes number in the regular season being 3-1. This quarterback rivalry has drawn comparisons of the Tom Brady and Peyton Manning rivalry when those two had to go through each other in the AFC conference in order to reach the promise land which was winning the Super Bowl. Now it took Peyton quite a while to overcome his arch rival Tom Brady in the playoffs until his eventually did in 2006 and beat Brady in the probably one of the greatest AFC championship games of all-time and he went on to blowout the Bears in the Super Bowl and win his first ring. That’s where Allen is at this point in his career of not being able to overcome his kryptonite when it matters the most when it comes to going up against Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs. Now just like Manning overcame Brady, Allen would eventually at some point in his career finally slay the dragon that is Patrick Mahomes in the posteseason whether that’s in Arrowhead or Highmark Stadium, but only time will remain that moment arrives with Josh just like it did with Peyton all those years ago. Despite all of that, this is the best quarterback rivalry to date since Brady and Manning and probably the best one of this generation.

How will the Bills overcome their injuries against KC’s defense?

The Bills have been riddled with injuries especially on the offensive side of the ball. Earlier this week, head coach Sean McDermott announced that rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman would be out for a second week in a row due to an wrist injury. The team announced today that tight end Dalton Kincaid would be out for the game due to an knee injury. While both wide receiver Amari Cooper and right tackle Spencer Brown are questionable to play on Sunday. So this is a lot of injuries to overcame for the Buffalo offense missing a few of their playmakers and two of them being questionable to play in a game like this against the team you’re trying to get over the hump. It will be intriguing to see how the Bills overcame the injuries on offense without some of their key players against that Chiefs defense who’s great against the pass on defense.

Will the Chiefs suffer their first loss of the season?

Like I stated before in the game preview, the Chiefs are on a 15 game winning streak dating back to December of last year. They are the only team that hasn’t lost a game yet this season standing alone being 9-0 on the year. But would this be the week that they finally suffer their first loss of the season? Well a lot of people in the media believe so that the Chiefs will have their first loss since Christmas of 2023. Not only because the team their playing against in the Bills on Sunday, but it’s the way on why many people believe that the Chiefs perfect 9-0 record may come to an end at Highmark Stadium. The reason why people believe why the Chiefs might have their first loss on Sunday against the Bills is because the how close their games have been since the beginning of the season. Like being in a tight game with Tampa Bay and going into overtime with two of their best playmakers on offense in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin being out of that game. And almost losing to Denver on a game winning field goal from 35 yards and got blocked from defender Leo Chenal. So yeah these games have been close with the Chiefs as of late but just like during the Patriots dynasty days the great team with a great coaching staff always finds a way to win the game. Regardless of who’s the opponent their playing against whether it’s a winning record or losing record, you always find a way to win that game in the end. In Kansas City’s case, that’s where they are at this point with their dynasty run it just shows how tough of a team they are and why they are so hard to beat when you go up against them. But could the Bills hand the Chiefs their first loss of the season? We shall see on Sunday in Orchard Park in the clash of the titans between these two great teams.
