Undrafted WR is ready to prove he belongs on Bills 53-man roster
Tyrell Shavers was was a Four Star Recruit coming out of Texas, ESPN Top 25 WR. Shavers redshirted as a freshman at (ALABAMA), but played all 15 games the following season during their national championship run in 2018 that produced Tua Tagovailoa, Najee Harris, Jalen Hurts, Calvin Ridley, Josh Jacobs, DeVonta Smith and Jerry Jeudy. Shavers at 6’5 210 pounds transferred to Mississippi St. thrived under the late (Mike Leach) and finished his final collegiate season at San Diego St where he contributed heavily on special teams blocking 3 punts while amassing his best season as a receiver with 38 receptions 643 yards and 3 touchdowns while earning Second Team All-Mountain West Honors.
With a lot of injuries to the Wide Receiver Room Khalil Shakir (ankle) Curtis Samuel (hamstring) Kaden Prather (hamstring), Shavers could assure himself a spot on the roster, with the camp he’s having. “I feel I bring a lot to the table that could help us whether it’s run game, pass game, playing receiver inside or outside, special teams. I’m just trying to do my one eleventh and help the team get to a Super Bowl.” Bills WR Coach Henry thinks Shavers has a great chance to make the 53 man roster this season. “Tyrell has mature a lot since coming to Buffalo, I like how he dedicated himself to the weight room he’s more settled mentally, recently got married so its awesome to see the man that he’s turning out to be.” says Coach Henry. Not Sure if Bills will keep 5 or 6 Wideouts but Shavers knows he will have to make it playing special teams, but if for some reason he doesn’t make this Bills Roster keep in mind that his has familiarity across the NFL. Shavers played at Alabama under Coach Daboll who is now the Head Coach for the Giants, His Alabama teammate Tua Tagovailoa plays QB for Division Rival Miami Dolphins not to mention his lone catch last season he went 69 yards untouched vs the Jets who could use a taller receiver to pair with Garret Wilson. Since being undrafted to Bills in 2023 he’s been a fan favorite among BillsMafia, and many believe he should’ve made the team last season, you can tell he’s hungry and playing like he’s belong on this Championship caliber team. “I’m just taking things day by day so I can help this team win, whatever it takes.”
