This past Saturday the Buffalo Bandits had two things to celebrate their (11-10) win against the
New York Riptide and (forward) (#22) Josh Byrne’s 29 th Birthday at the Key Bank Center. He
and his fellow teammate (forward) (#92) The Great Dhane Smith scored back-to-back goals in
the fourth quarter to boost the Bandits to cause the game to go into overtime. The back-and-forth
scuffle between New York and Buffalo. Smith was able to put up 11 points (3+8), while Byrne
(3+2) and (Forward) (#91) Kyle Buchanan scored (3+0) scored hat tricks after that (#2)
(Forward) Chris Cloutier scored 5 assists all while (#48) (Goalie) Matt Vinc blocked the
Riptides 47 shots in the net.
Buffalo Bandits head coach John Tavares credits his team’s performance stating “The
guys didn’t give up. You’ve got to give them credit,” coach John Tavares said. “Down all game
long, to crawl back.” Buchanan did say this season was the hardest ever for the team but was
able to pull through. The Buffalo Bandits have their last home game of the regular season
against their long-time arch-rivals the Toronto Knighthawks Saturday, April 22 nd at the Key Bank
center, face-off starts at 8:00 pm.
